Hot in Cleveland loved Gilles so much during his hilarious turn as Captain Lebeau last Fall that they've asked him to don the uniform one more time and romance Victoria (Wendie Malick) in her home port. Gilles Marini Films Scruples Pilot for ABC -
Gilles just finished filming a spot in the new ABC pilot, Scruples, based on Judith Krantz's best-selling novel. The show is executive produced by Oscar winner, Natalie Portman and Annette Savitch of Handsome Charlie Films alongside Krantz's son, Tony. The drama centers on "rich and powerful clothing designer Billy Winthrop Ikehorn (Claire Forlani) in a world of sex, revenge and scandal" and Gilles plays Renee Dufaux, "a Frenchman from Billy’s past." The character is expected to recur if the show is picked up to series. (Word on whether the pilot is picked up should be released in May during the ABC up fronts and, if picked up, may air in late 2012.) Further details TBA. (Source: Digital Spy).

Gilles Marini is hosting the prestigious Festival de Télévision in Monte Carlo this June. According to their website, "America’s new darling, the 'Fabulous Frenchman' all the TV studios in LA are talking about, will be acting as Master of Ceremonies for the famous Golden Nymph ceremony." Recognizing the honor of being asked to host the Festival, Marini said [via twitter] that the news was "amazing" and he was "so proud." ABC Family has set the premiere date for its smash summer hit, Switched at Birth, and according to TV By the Numbers the season will be a roller-coaster ride with Gilles Marini right in the middle of it. "This season, the families must deal with the arrival of Bay's biological father Angelo (Gilles Marini) inflaming old passions and creating new rivalries. According to the Daily Pilot, "They called it An Evening at Moulin Rouge, and the funds raised, a whopping $1.3 million in donations, will go to funding life essentials for people fighting cancer. Monies will pay rent, buy food, keep kids in school and in general assist cancer patients from facing total financial ruin as they fight for their lives."
